Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek

  • 2 Guest
  • 10 Nights
  • Unlimited Can Be Sold at a Single Event

Eleven days, two travelers, and one of the planet’s ultimate adventures: a fully guided trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, capped by a helicopter flight back to Kathmandu instead of the long trek out. Billed as the shortest and most luxurious route to Base Camp, this is a bucket-list experience only a very small handful of people can say they’ve achieved — and it’s not for the faint-hearted.

Your journey starts the moment you land, with a welcome at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan Airport and a transfer to your first hotel before the trek begins the following day. Over the days that follow, experienced guides lead you across one of earth’s greatest wonders toward Everest itself — at 8,848m, the highest mountain above sea level, some 60 million years old and straddling the border of Nepal and Tibet. The reward comes at Everest Base Camp and the viewpoint of Kala Patthar. Then, instead of retracing your steps to Lukla, you board a helicopter and take in the Himalayan panorama from a comfortable chopper on the way back to Kathmandu.

Your nights are split between a hotel in Kathmandu and teahouse trekking on the trail, the most popular way to travel this route: teahouses are small hotels in the local villages along the way, offering both a place to sleep and home-cooked food. Everything else the trek needs is built in too — all meals, the required permits, a day-by-day itinerary, and experienced guides. Flights to Lukla and the helicopter transfers are included; international flights to and from Kathmandu are not. This is a highly challenging, physically demanding experience, so an excellent level of fitness is essential and travel insurance is advised.
